Users of the set-top box that combines Smart TV, Gaming Console and Smart Home capabilities will soon be able to purchase and enjoy hundreds of premium Android™ games via the Nexway-powered snakebyte GameStore
Mobile World Congress, BARCELONA, Spain; NANTERRE, France; and SAN FRANCISCO, California (March 4th, 2015) – Digital commerce provider Nexway announced that snakebyte’s new QEUS smart TV set-top box – unveiled today at Mobile World Congress – will soon feature a snakebyte-branded alternative Android app store powered and managed by Nexway.
Developed by Nexway, the snakebyte GameStore will allow users of the QEUS smart TV system to easily purchase, download and enjoy hundreds of premium core and casual Android games, wherever they may be around the world.
“We were looking for an app store provider capable of offering a superior app commerce experience to our users. Our provider of choice also needed to have a proven ability to accompany our introductions of the QEUS smart TV set-top box in markets around the world”, says Mike Steup, Managing Director of snakebyte Europe. “The Nexway Appstore solution and its immersive user experience, global payments and fraud prevention capabilities, multilingual Level 1 end user support, and demonstrated ability to reliably and securely deliver Android™ games to end users around the world convinced us to choose Nexway as our white label app store provider”, also says Mike Steup.
The snakebyte GameStore will benefit from the Nexway Appstore solution’s exclusive app commerce features – including support for global payment methods, support for all Android revenue models (premium, freemium, in-app item sale, micropayments, paymium, and subscription), strong multilingual capabilities, and a powerful administrative interface that lets store managers continuously monitor and optimize their app business.
“We are proud to have been chosen by snakebyte to power and manage the snakebyte GameStore. This is testimony to our technology leadership and to our global app commerce capabilities. We look forward to partnering with snakebyte as it introduces the QEUS smart TV set-top box in markets around the world”, says Gilles Ridel, Founder and CEO of Nexway.
Nexway will be operating the snakebyte GameStore on behalf of snakebyte as a global managed service. The GameStore will benefit from day-to-day operation and optimization by the Nexway Global Services team in ten countries in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
The Nexway Global Services team’s capabilities span IT services, marketing agency, digital catalog sourcing and curation, payment management, subscription and recurring billing operation, fraud prevention, and Level 1 end user support via phone and email.
